PLS General Information
PLS is authorized to administer the Institutional TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), the MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) exam and the CEFE (Comprehensive English Fluency Exam).
PLS operates continuously. New students can enroll and begin classes any day.
A placement test in oral and written English is given to each student upon arrival. This test is used to measure a student's level in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English. PLS then provides instruction to accommodate students with varying abilities and interests.
PLS uses a "direct" method. The student becomes actively involved from the first lesson. This conversational method necessitates the student's participation and interaction. PLS has developed courses to include a planned selected vocabulary. Every word learned is included because of its communication value. The main objective is the ability to speak and write fluently.
To read, understand and speak English* fluently, come to PLS where there is a curriculum designed by professionals for professionals.
* (PLS also offers the same diversity of courses and quality of instruction for other languages. Instructors are native speakers of the student's target language and are very familiar with the corresponding culture.)
